(May 6, 2014 - Fort Pierce, FL) -- Cory Bowman Justyn and Bradley were dolphin fishing off Jupiter Inlet this past Sunday when a wave toppled their 21-foot boat "in a matter of seconds."
(October 11, 2011 - Layton, FL) -- After clinging to the overturned hull and an empty cooler box for more than 45 hours, eight members of the family were rescued by a passing fishing vessel.
Before help arrived, the eldest of the group, 76 year old Maria Gonzalez drifted away from her family and is presumed deceased. The survivors spent almost two full days in open water, fearing for their lives...
All the while no one on shore knew they were missing, and no one was looking for them. 
(March 2003 -- AL) Having searched more than 13,500 miles of ocean for the Krumm family, rescue efforts were halted after several bodies and debris from their vessel was located.
Rescuers were frustrated by the lack of information about the family's location. No float plan was filed, and the vague information that was provided led to a search area of approximately 1600 square miles (larger than the state of Rhode Island).
Valuable time was lost trying to comb such a vast expanse - at least one victim was found to have drowned despite having properly donned a life jacket.
